PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will start in special business with a proclamation for V-F-W Buddy Poppy Day. Commissioners will consider approval of a five-item consent calendar including approval of minutes and claims, a volunteer firefighter application and two raffle requests. The raffle requests are filed by the Oahe Home Builders Association and Pierre Swim Team. In unfinished business, Commissioners will consider approval of a plat change. New business brings two items relating to the new John Waldron Memorial Bridge. Commissioners will consider approval of a bridge maintenance agreement and memorandum of understanding between the city, South Dakota Department of Transportation and City of Fort Pierre. Additionally, the Commission will consider a maintenance agreement with the D-O-T for a concrete repair project on Highway 14. Other agenda items include second reading of revisions to ordinance over the organizing of city departments, Commissioner assignments and 2027 wine and liquor license renewals.
