The Pierre Governor volleyball team will be on the road for the final time this year as the Govs head to Aberdeen to take on the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles.
After back-to-back losses on Friday and Saturday, Pierre is down to the final three games of the season starting with the Golden Eagles tonight. Of the six remaining games which began last Tuesday, only one of the teams are outside of the top eight and half of the matches are in the top five which concludes with the Harrisburg Tigers in the regular season finale next week Thursday. It’s the lone game of the week for the Governors after having a three game week last week. Pierre is at 1-16 and will be finishing out the regular season and will miss the SoDak 16 without going 3-0 and getting a lot of help. Aberdeen Central is coming in at 14-9 and in eighth place in the AA standings after a reverse sweep of the Huron Tigers last Friday. The Golden Eagles are trying to hang on for a top eight spot with a charging Jefferson Cavaliers who are now in ninth in the AA standings.
Coverage tonight begins at 6:00 with a 6:30 first serve on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
