The Sully Buttes Chargers are wrapping up the regular season tonight with a road trip up to Lemmon to take the on the Lemmon/McIntosh Cowboys with the playoffs looming next Thursday.
The Chargers lost to the Timber Lake Panthers in overtime last Friday and are now 6-1 on the season dropping the Chargers from first to fourth in the 9A standings heading into the last week. Freeman finished the regular season last week at 8-0 so Sully Buttes will not be able to get back to the top seed regardless of outcomes at the end of the night. However, the Chargers want to make sure they keep their top four spot and have to win tonight against a 3-4 Cowboy squad who lost to Timber Lake by just two points back at the beginning of the season. Lemmon/McIntosh has played four of its seven opponents above .500 and another team at 3-4 and could be .500 by the end of the night. However, the Cowboys aren’t in the playoffs currently and need a win to reach the 9A playoffs. Tom Moore, head coach of the Sully Buttes Chargers says they’re going to be a desperate football team tonight…
But as the game heads into tonight, Moore says they need to be fundamental against the Cowboys…
Coverage tonight begins at 6:30 Central time with a 7:00 kickoff on Country 95.3 and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with Wyatt Burichka on the call.
