The Pierre Governor volleyball team will be back on the road tonight as the Govs travel to the Huron Arena to face the Tigers in the first of two meetings this season.
It’s usual for the Governors and Tigers to meet twice in the season, but tonight the Govs will look to go on the road and knock off the Tigers who are fighting to gain a top eight spot for a home game in the SoDak 16 as they are 7-10. Pierre is looking to gain its second win as the Govs did jump over the Douglas Patriots in the AA standings even after the loss to the Brandon Valley Lynx on Saturday. Huron traveled to Rapid City this past weekend and split matches falling to Stevens and then beating Central. The win over the Cobblers stopped an eight game losing streak for the Tigers. The Governors have dropped three straight since beating Douglas for its lone win of the year. Pierre will host the Tigers in another three weeks in the second to final game of the season.
First serve from the Huron Arena is scheduled for 6:30 tonight. Pierre will travel to Brookings on Thursday.
