The Stanley County Buffaloes didn’t have the answer for the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers Friday night in Fort Pierre as the Buffs would fall 50-0 dropping to 2-5 while the Black Panthers are now 6-1.
The first drive of the game, Kaleb Boes would get his first varsity start at the freshman QB, and along with Joe Malm out of the Wildcat, would move the ball down the field as the Buffs would be without a couple of starters. A couple of false start penalties would back up the Buffs from 4th and 7 to 4th and 17 and the seven minute first drive would stall out. Landon Keiser would take the first play 81 yards on the ground to give Platte-Geddes the 6-0 lead after the failed conversion. Stanley County would fumble the football in the next drive and Platte-Geddes would make it 14-0 quickly. Stanley County would get a couple of defense stops in the first half, but the Black Panthers would take a 27-0 lead into the break. However, Platte-Geddes would waste no time getting back on the board in the second half and had the lead at 44-0 with eight minutes to go in the third quarter. Platte-Geddes would add on one more score with two and a half to go in the third to pick up the 50-0 win.
Stanley County will host Kimball/White Lake in the season finale on Friday. The WiLdKats would get a big win on Friday and are 4-3 on the season coming in to the game. Kickoff is at 7:00 at Ole Williamson Field.
