The Pierre Governor girls soccer team will be at home Saturday evening as the top seed in Class AA hosts the eight seed Brookings Bobcats in its quarterfinal matchup.
The Governors had a strong second half off the back of Aubrey Fischer who had three goals in the second half and four goals in the game in the 5-0 win over Rapid City Central. Saturday evening, the Governors want to have a strong first half to continue to excel in the second half against the Bobcats who had to go into PKs to get the win on Tuesday over Brandon Valley. The Bobcats came back from a 1-0 deficit to get the win over the Lynx 5-3 in PKs. The two teams met back on September 8 and the Govs would get a 1-0 win over Brookings in a hard fought, close contest. The Governors would get its lone goal from Lexie Hillmer in the win, but Brookings had a big chance to draw the Governors.
