The Stanley County Buffaloes wouldn’t have an answer to the top ranked Parkston Trojans on Friday as the Trojans beat the Buffs on Homecoming night 62-0 in Fort Pierre.
KCCR’s Blake Dean mentioned in the Pierre broadcast Parkston is a wagon of a team, and the Trojans proved it on Friday getting the 62-0 win at halftime at Ole Williamson Field. Stanley County went three and out on the first possession of the game and a bad snap on the punt gave Parkston a first and goal from the five and scored on the first play from scrimmage. It would be a 38-0 game at the end of the first quarter as Parkston had just six plays and four touchdowns on offense which included a pick six. The Buffs had its best offensive drive midway through the second quarter driving down to the Parkston 25, but the drive would stall out and failed to get the first on fourth and two. Parkston would put on the finishing touches with a couple more touchdowns as the Trojans are now 5-0 on the season while Stanley County falls to 1-4.
Stanley County will travel for the final time in the regular season on Friday as the Buffs will be in Gregory to face the Gorillas. Kickoff is at 7:00 from Gorilla Stadium.
