PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Fort Thompson man has been sentenced to federal prison time for the sexual assault of a minor. U-S Attorney Ron Parsons says 26 year-old Bucorey Bell was sentenced to six year in the federal prison system and with that a full decade of supervised release after completion of the prison time. Bell was indicted by a federal grand jury on the chage of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in December of 2023 and pleaded guilty to the charge back in June. Parsons says Bell began a romantic relationship with the victim in August of 2023 Bell and the victim, who was under 16 years old at the time, engaged in sexual acts on multiple occasions during the relationship. Multiple federal programs help bring the case to justice including the Major Crimes Act. Project Safe Neighborhood and the Department of Justice’s Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Regional Outreach program. Bell was taken by the United States Marshals Service to begin serving his sentence.
