The Pierre Governor golf team would finish in ninth place at the Watertown Invite at the Cattail Golf Course Tuesday afternoon as Pierre was led by Beckham McPeck.
McPeck would finish tied for 16th at five over par, 77 only four shots back of fourth. McPeck had two birdies on the day. Tate Stoeser had three birdies including the first two as he finished eight over par, 80 tying for 32nd along with Josh Luidahl and Matthew Eberhard to round out the Governors scoring. Eberhard would get a birdie. Caleb Hutton would finish at nine over par, 81 while Rigley Kulesa would be at 18 over par, 90. Ryker Edson was the seventh golfer for the Governors but was competing as just an individual and would not factor into the team score as he went nine over par, 81 as well. Tea Area’s Landon Baker and Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring would each go two under par, 70 both having the lowest score of the day. Brayden Byrkeland of Yankton would be in third at one under par, 71.
As a team Pierre would be at 29 over par, just three shots back of fifth place and only 11 shots back of second place. Yankton would win the team score, 10 shots better than second at eight over par as a team. Brandon Valley and Brookings would tie for second and Aberdeen Roncalli would get fourth.
