The Pierre Governor golf team would compete in the biggest invite of the season on Friday in Mitchell as the Governors would place 14th out of 21 teams at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course.
The Governors were led by both Beckham McPeck and Tate Stoeser on the day as both would be seven over par, 79. But Caleb Hutton and Matthew Eberhard would finish right behind them at just eight over par, 80. McPeck and Stoeser would tie for 46th place along with eight others while Hutton and Eberhard each tied for 57th place with five others. Rigley Kulesa and Hudson Prunty would finish at 12 over and 17 over par respectively. Braxton Hollan of Lincoln would win the day individually at three under par, 69 with teammate Brody Hermann tying with Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell for second one shot back at two under par, 70. Three others would be even par.
As a team, Pierre would finish at 30 over par, 318, three shots back of Parkston for 13th, but only 10 shots back of going all the way up to seventh place. Lincoln went just one over par as a team at 289 to win the team score by seven strokes over Brandon Valley.
