FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — It’s a lighter agenda for the Fort Pierre City Council tonight. The Council will first hear reports from city officials before getting into the agenda. Only seven items make up the balance of the agenda. Two temporary liquor licenses are up for consideration by the Council. Both are filed by the Silver Spur for events October 3rd and 4th at the Stanley County Fairgrounds and October 10th at the Pat Duffy Community and Youth Involved Center. Council members will also consider approval of a right-of-way closure permit for the Fort Pierre Fire Department Fireman’s Ball on September 26th . Other agenda items include consideration of authorizing the application to the State Water Plan for the Bore Under the Bad River project and second and final reading will be given to ordinances setting the general fund and Triple B budgets, utility budget and utility rates for the next budget year. The Council is also scheduled to meet in executive session for legal and contractual matters. The Fort Pierre City Council meets at six pm tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room.
