The Washington Warriors would take a three set sweep of the Pierre Governors on Tuesday night with scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-8 at Riggs High School.
The Governors had more hitting errors than kills on the night as the Warriors made life difficult in the match as the Govs just couldn’t get anything going. Pierre had just 13 kills to 18 hitting errors. Pierre would hang tough in the first two sets until Washington hit the double digit spot, then the Warriors would take over for the set and then cruised in the final set. Kinlee Baumberger would lead the Warriors and match with nine kills while Chloe Peterson had eight. Aubrielle Perry, who led the team in the first set with five kills, finished with six in total as the Warriors outhit the Govs 32-13 in the match. Ally Keyes had the team high three kills for Pierre while Myah Nickolas, Addison Novotny, Faith Baumberger and Ellie Olivier each had two. Washington moves to 4-2 with the win while the Governors fall to 0-6 on the season.
The Governors will head to Yankton on Friday and then back home on Saturday to face the Jefferson Cavaliers. Saturday’s game will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
