The Stanley County Lady Buffaloes haven’t been home much this season, but the Lady Buffaloes will host the Big Dakota Conference Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Buffs are coming in at 2-8, but would be 2-2 last Saturday on the road playing at North Central. Stanley County dominated Timber Lake and McIntosh to get the two wins while playing the Thunder of North Central close in the third match. Stanley County’s been off from matches since then and the Lady Buffs will host the BDC tournament this weekend. Saying the Lady Buffs haven’t been home much this season isn’t an understatement. Stanley County has only played two matches at home, both on a Saturday hosting Wall and Bennett County. Saturday will only be the second day all season the Lady Buffaloes have been playing on the home court. However, it means the Lady Buffs will enjoy a lot more time at home over the next month. After Saturday, Stanley County will still be home for five of the next seven days of competition which includes a triangular.
Stanley County will be joined by the rest of the Big Dakota Conference this weekend with Chamberlain, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, Crow Creek, Little Wound, Mobridge-Pollock, Todd County and Winner coming to Fort Pierre. All teams will get four guaranteed games with a play-in game to determine the four teams in the championship and consolation pools. Stanley County will face Winner in the first match. Once in the respective pool, teams will play against the other three teams in the pool to determine places with points given on wins and losses and how many sets are played.
You can see the full list of the teams with the schedule and rules below. The BDC tournament begins at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Parkview Auditorium in Fort Pierre.
