The Tea Titans would get its first win of the season Thursday night as the Titans came into Pierre and would sweep the Governors 25-19, 25-18 and 25-11.
The Governors were able to hang tough in sets one and two and keep things close, but the later the set would get, the bigger separation would be. Pierre struggled to get kills after the first set as Pierre didn’t have a kill shot until point 15 of set two as the Govs finished with just 12 in the match and only two in set three. Ally Keyes would have the game high four. Pierre did have seven aces, but the Titans countered with 15 total aces, five coming from Chloe Christensen. Remington Bechard had 11 kills to lead the Titans who are now 1-2 on the season while Aundrea Russell had 10 as the two in double figures for the Titans. Pierre drops to 0-3 on the season.
The Governors will have a week break before traveling to Sturgis next week Friday, and Spearfish then on Saturday.
