Two former Pierre Governor standouts are scheduled to make their starting debut at their new homes this weekend as Lincoln Kienholz in Louisville and Jason Maciejczak of Wyoming will open up the college football season.
These two men will play their first game of the year coming off the heels of Jett Zabel at North Dakota State making his FBS debut as the Bison handled Jacksonville State last Saturday and will play Fordham this Saturday. Maciejczak is scheduled to be the starting center for the Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday as the Nebraska Transfer, who appeared in 21 games for the Cornhuskers will start against Colorado State. Maciejczak left Nebraska at the end of last season and quickly made his choice to be a Cowboy and knew he had a big opportunity to be starting in week one. Magic will lead the offensive line and control the snaps for Wyoming. The Cowboys finished last season at 4-8 and are looking to get to its first bowl game since defeating Toledo in the Arizona Bowl in 2023.
Kienholz will take the snaps in his first career college start as the Louisville Cardinals will have their hands full in the only Top 25 matchup of the season. Kienholz transferred from Ohio State after the Buckeyes were eliminated in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Kienholz chose to be a Cardinal and has taken control of the starting job and the Cardinals are ranked to start the season at 24 in the AP Poll. Ole Miss, ranked ninth in the poll will meet the Cardinals Sunday evening in Nashville for a special Sunday night college football game. Kienholz has thrown for 250 yards and a touchdown and has also scored twice on the ground in his collegiate career.
North Dakota State will face Fordham at 2:30 and Wyoming will play at 5:00 against Colorado State on the USA Network. Sunday, Louisville and Ole Miss will play at 6:30 with the game on KCCR and coverage starting at 6:00. It will also be available to watch on ABC.
