The Bon Homme Cavaliers would storm out to a 48-0 running clock victory Friday night defeating the Stanley County Buffaloes to open the season in Tyndall.
In an earlier kickoff than normal, the Cavaliers didn’t take long to get on the board with an 8-0 lead as Major Aarstad was big in the win for Bon Homme as the Cavs lead 15-0 after two possessions. The Cavs would get up to a 48-0 lead by the end of the half as Owen Bures scored twice from beyond 50 yards and are around 35 yards. Colin Clark added a score as well for the Cavs. The Buffalo offense was unable to finish drives to get into the end zone in the loss as the Buffs would get a drive going, but a penalty or a turnover would stop the drive. The running clock was enacted for the entire second half and neither team could find the end zone in the final 24 minutes.
Stanley County will look for its first win again next Friday, but it won’t be an easier as a talented Hill City Rangers squad comes to town for a week two matchup. Hill City lost by 30 to top ranked Parkston in a 54-24 loss. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 on Friday at Ole Williamson Field in Fort Pierre.
