For the first time this season, the Sully Buttes Chargers volleyball team will be on the court as the Chargers host the Jones County Coyotes starting a busy first week.
Sully Buttes opened the season with Jones County last season, defeating the Coyotes in five sets. Jones County finished the season at 18-11 while the Chargers were 7-20 at the end of the year. While Sully Buttes will have plenty of returning, Jones County is returning two of its four top hitters with Sunny Valburg leading the way last year with 219 kills as she heads into her senior year, while Aubrey Tucker had 131 kills, third on the team as she head into her sophomore year. Jacey Jensen returns as the team’s setter where she had 599 assists last season alone. Along with Maddie Dowling who led the team in digs also returns as Jones County has plenty of experience coming back to this year’s team. Sully Buttes will also play in the YTC Tournament this coming weekend.
