FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — Fort Pierre officials continue to urge residents to abide by watering restrictions put in place during repair work on the Mni Wiconi Rural Water System. The System began making leak repairs on Monday. The restrictions are in place until further notice. Water is currently shut off to the city and water is coming only from storage reservoirs. The restrictions are being put in place to minimize supply issues and maintain water for fire protection. The City of Fort Pierre is asking water users to limit unnecessary water usage during the restriction. The restrictions include no lawn watering at all until the restriction is lifted and normal water use can continue. Anyone with questions about the restrictions are invite to contact the City of Fort Pierre office at 605-223-7690. Mni Wiconi did not give an estimate as to when the repairs might be completed.
