It would take 14 innings, but the Casper Spuds would get a walk off for the second game in a row to beat the Oahe Zap in game three of the Wild Card series eliminating the Zap in a 5-4 game.
The Zap and Spuds would trade runs throughout the first nine innings as Casper led 1-0 after the second before Oahe tied the game in the third on a Gavin Fraser RBI single. Dillon Bowie would score in the top of the fifth on an error to take a 2-1 lead and Fraser added an RBI double in the seventh to take a 3-1 lead for the Zap. Casper pulled within one at 3-2, but Bowie would double in the top of the ninth to make it a 4-2 game. However, the first two runs would reach in the bottom of the ninth and a one out single by Kaeden Wilcox would tie the game at 4-4 and send the game to extra innings. Both teams would get scoreless frames in the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and into the 14th. In the bottom of the 14th, Casper would get the first two on base with back-to-back singles and a bunt attempt was airmailed to third and the winning run would come home and Casper would advance to the ILB championship series with the walk off win. All three games would be decided in the final inning and Oahe falls just one game short of making the championship series. Fraser and Cy Taylor each had three hits for the Zap Dominic DeCarlo, Gabe Cantona and Bowie each had two hits.
Oahe finishes the season at 23-27 on the year, losing 2-1 in the Wild Card series. Casper will head to Spearfish to face the Sasquatch in the ILB championship. The best-of-three series begins Friday and will wrap up by Sunday in Spearfish.
