PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Kennebec man was killed Saturday in a crash in Charles Mix County. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened at approximately 12:40 pm on U-S Highway 18, three miles south of Lake Andes. The 56 year-old man killed in the crash was driving a 2000 Freightliner semi-truck south on U-S Highway 18 when the brakes locked up on the vehicle. That caused the truck to swerve into a ditch and roll over. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time. The name of the driver has not been released pending the notification of family.
