FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. The Council will hear reports from city officials before moving on to the agenda. The Council will get an update on the Western Dakota Regional Water System, of which the city is a member and get an update from Jasmin Fosheim and Cassidy Blade on Fort Pierre Tourism. Three special fireworks licenses requests are up for consideration. All three are filed by Smith Fireworks for events August 22nd, 29th and September 19th. Four temporary liquor licenses for events around Trader Days are also on the agenda. They’ve been filed by the Chuckwagon for two events, Stanley Post 20 American Legion and Maier Meats. A street closure request for Trader Days on Deadwood Street is also on the agenda. The Council will set a public hearing date for a liquor license transfer and consider awarding a bid for a power transformer at the Fort Pierre Substation. Other agenda items include a change order from Morris for street improvements and approval of a contract with Black Mountain Software. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at four pm, so the Council can hear subsidy requests.
