PIERRE, (KCCR) — A pair of Pukwana residents have been sentenced to federal prison for embezzlement from a South Dakota Native American Tribe. U-S Attorney Ron Parsons says 40 year-old Kyle Loudner and 34 year-old Talyn Douville were indicted together by a federal grand jury in May of last year. Lounder pleaded guilty at the end of March with Douville entering a guilty plea in early April. Parsons says Loudner and Douville embezzled approximately 160-thousand dollars from the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe between May of 2022 and July of 2024. Parsons says Loudner was elected to the Crow Creek Tribal Council in May of 2022. After the election, he and Douville set up three checking accounts. Nearly 100 checks were drawn out of government accounts payable to Loudner, Douville, both of them or to cash. Loudner was sentenced to a year-and-a-half in prison with three years of probation. Douville was sentenced to six months in prison. Both must repay the 160-thousand dollars in restitution and must report to the U-S Marshal’s Service to begin their prison terms in July.
