PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash in Lyman County has killed a Reliance woman. The Patrol says the crash happened Thursday evening around 6:45 p-m on South Dakota Highway 248, two miles east of Lyman. Highway 248 runs parallel to Interstate 90. A preliminary investigation of the crash shows a Suzuki mini-truck driven 63 year-old Gayle Mohr of Reliance was traveling south on 324th Avenue at the same time a Freightliner semi-truck, driven by 57 year-old Collin Hoffer of Chamberlain was westbound on Highway 248. Mohr failed to stop and drove into the path of the Hoffer’s Freightliner. Mohr was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Hoffer received minor injuries and was transported to Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center. The crash happened two miles east of Lyman.
