The Oahe Zap couldn’t make it seven for seven as the Bison Baseball team would squeak out a 3-2 win Monday night at Hyde Stadium snapping the Zap’s six game winning streak.
The Bison would lead 2-0 in the top of the first on Vinny Nielson’s two run homer just the second batter of the game. It held until the bottom of the sixth when Connor Goldberg would single home both runs for the Zap evening the game at 2-2. But an RBI single from Remington Hart in the top of the eighth would score the game winning run for the Bison and while the Zap made things interesting with a Ty Farwell double in the eighth and the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the ninth, the Zap failed to score both times stopping its longest winning streak of the season and moving the Zap to 14-17 on the year. Pierce Hollowell would throw the first four innings settling in after the two run homer giving up just one more hit with three walks and a strikeout. Carson Dupius had a scoreless three innings with just one hits and seven strikeouts and Brady Glenn got the final six outs without allowing a base runner. Anthony Budmayr would give up the go ahead hit in the top of the eighth and failed to record an out in his outing. Dominic DeCarlo also doubled for the Zap.
Oahe will be off until Friday when they host the Bison again while the Bison will travel to Spearfish for a three game series before coming back to Hyde Stadium.
