PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. First up is approval of a six-item consent calendar. Included for unanimous approval are meeting minutes and claims a new hire for Central South Dakota Communications and a voluntary demotion in the Water Department. The consent calendar also includes a wage adjustment for Todd Johnson from Commissioner to Mayor and accepting Johnson’s resignation as Commissioner. That will be followed by the first action item of administering the Oath of Office to Johnson to begin his term as mayor. The Commission will consider approval of street closure requests filed by the Street Master’s Car Club for gravity drags on August 8th and Militiaman V-M-C for a poker run July 11th. Second reading will be given to ordinance revisions for E-bicycle use in the and a request to bid for 111 North Huron Avenue. Commissioners will also hear the 2025 Audit Engagement proposal. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the community.
