Pierre Post 8 found themselves down 3-0 in the top of the first in game one of the doubleheader against Huron Post 7 on Thursday at home, but it would be the only time Huron would score on the day as Pierre would win 5-3 in game one and 13-0 in game two.
Three straight RBI singles in the top of the first would put Huron up 3-0 taking advantage of an error in the inning, but Bridger Babcock would settle in and allow just three hits the rest of the way on the way to his first pitching win of the season giving up three runs, one earned on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts. Carter Schiefelbein had a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the second to make it 3-1 and Sutton Sonnenschein had a three RBI triple to make it 4-3 and Will Eilers would get the final RBI for the five run fifth inning to finish all scoring in game one. Eilers and Tripp Lindekugel each had two hits with Porter Hunsley going 3-3 in game one.
In game two, Pierre would take a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning before scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 13-0 five inning win. Hudson Stoeser would score the first run on an RBI single before Lindekugel would have an RBI double and Jackson Goodman made it 3-0 with an RBI ground out. Stoeser again got the scoring started in the bottom of the fourth getting an RBI single while Sonnenschein would drive in two with a hit as he had five RBIs on the day. Lindekugel, Hudson Shaffer, Hunsley, Schiefelbein, Carter Templeton all had an RBI in the inning while Eilers had an RBI in both plate appearances in the fourth. Shaffer would get the complete game three hit shutout in the five inning win have four strikeouts and just one walk. Overall on the day, Lindekugel had five hits including two doubles while Eilers had four hits and three RBIs.
