It was a big come back for the Casper Spuds in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game in a six run inning, but Oahe found a way to score two in the ninth to take game three of the series 12-10 Wednesday.
Oahe would open up a 3-0 lead in the top of the first as Garren Gledhill would single home a run and Connor Goldberg would have a two RBI double. Oahe led 4-2 after the fourth and then a four run sixth inning followed by a two run top of the seventh made it a 10-2 lead for Oahe. But the Spuds weren’t done, yet. Casper would answer with a two run seventh and then score six runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 10-10 grabbing all the momentum. But in the top of the ninth, Cy Taylor and Ty Farwell would hit back-to-back triples to start the inning give the Zap an 11-10 lead and Goldberg would drive in his third run of the game with a base hit to make it 12-10. Quinn Ludvigsen, who came in relief in the bottom of the eighth was able to get the final three outs in the ninth and pick up the win on the mound as Oahe takes its second game of the series and will be looking to win three of four on Thursday. Taylor would 4-4 in the game finishing a home run shy of the cycle as he, Farwell and Gledhill each had two RBIs. Mason Melton and Farwell had two hits while Goldberg would finish with three as the Zap had 15 hits in the game having 32 combined in the last two games.
Oahe will look for the series win tonight before coming home for four straight starting Friday. First pitch tonight is at 7:30 Central Time in Casper.
