The Oahe Zap would return from its week break of games and started out well, but one bad inning would spoil the return as Spearfish would win 14-4 in eight innings in Spearfish on Thursday.
The game would be tied 4-4 after four innings and Oahe led 2-0 in the top of the first as Landon Meyer drove in both runs on a two RBI single. Spearfish responded tying the game at 2-2 and then led 4-2 after three innings. Cy Taylor and Dominic DeCarlo each had an RBI in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 4-4. A two run bottom of the fifth gave the Sasquatch a 6-4 lead and then a six run sixth inning started by a three run homer from Sam Kwapnioski as he drove in four runs and had three hits in the win. Carter Towns also had three hits and drove in four runs for the Sasquatch as then Spearfish had two runs score on back-to-back singles to finish off the game and win the game in the bottom of the eighth pushing the Sasquatch record to 14-4 on the season and the Zap falling to 4-12.
Oahe will continue the series tonight with a 7:05 Central time first pitch before the Zap and Sasquatch come to Pierre to play on both Saturday and Sunday with a 6:05 first pitch on Saturday and 5:05 first pitch on Sunday Hyde Stadium.
