The Oahe Zap turned the first two games this week of blow out losses into a blow out win in game one of the two game set with the Capital City Aviators winning 13-1 on Wednesday.
Ty Farwell had himself a day crushing a grand slam and had a total of five runs driven in as he had two of the Zap’s just five hits in the win. The Aviators had 11 walks and hit four batters and the Zap would make them pay. Oahe scored five runs in the second along with a run in the third and fourth and then a six run fifth inning to complete the 10 run rule win in seven innings. Kaden Bazansky had three runs driven in and Mason Melton also had two RBI without recording a hit. Landon Meyer had the other RBI for the Zap. Cy Taylor allowed just one run on two hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in five innings to get the win on the mound as Oahe held the Aviators to just three hits on the evening. The win stops a four game skid and improves the Zap to 4-11 while the Aviators are now 0-3 against the Independence League Baseball teams and have been run ruled in all three games.
Oahe will look for the two game sweep on Thursday before having a week off before its next games. First pitch is at 6:05 tonight at Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
