PIERRE, (KCCR) — Starting Monday, a number of chip sealing and fog sealing projects are expected to begin on central South Dakota highways in the Pierre area. The work is weather dependent. South Dakota Highway 20 will be chip and fog sealed through the City of Hoven. U-S 212 will have the same work done from the east city limits of Gettysburg to the Potter/Faulk County border. State Highway 1804 will be done from north of the Onida grade to two miles east of the Sutton curve at the Agar grade. Highway 34 will also be done from a half-mile west of the Canning Road to the Hughes/Hyde County line. Highway 1806 will see chip and fog sealing from County Line Road to Highway 273 north of Kennebec. To the west, South Dakota Highway 63 will see work from Four Corners to the south end of the Cheyenne River Bridge. During the work, traffic will be reduced to one lane and guided with flaggers and pilot cars. Delays up to 15 minutes should be expected while traveling through work areas during daytime hours. Loose gravel and fresh oil will be present in the project area for two weeks. Traffic is advised to reduce speed or use an alternate route during this time.
