PIERRE, (KCCR) –Races across Hughes and Stanley County were not the only ballot battles Tuesday night in South Dakota. In local races across central South Dakota Chad Mutziger won the Mayor seat in Chamberlain over Monte Claussen by a 60-40 margin with Mutziger carrying 276 votes to Claussen’s 187. Paul Roghair and Jake Vandermay won seats on the Kadoka Area School Board. Roghair was tops at 325 votes to Vandermay’s 281. Eric Wilmarth finished third with 235 votes. The Kimball School Board filled a seat Tuesday night as voters elected Kendra Olson to the Board with 226 votes. Olsen defeated Kelly Konechne by a 66-34 margin. Janene Wingert beat out Matthew Bilben for a seat on the Kimball City County 34-to-37. Onida had a City Council race go to Michael Yackley who defeated Ward I opponent Jessica Olivier 56-34. In Pukwana, in Brule County Olivia Downs earned a City Commission race win over Dixie Langton 48-17. Todd County had a four-person race for a single seat on the Todd County School Board Melissa Whipple edged out Timothy Cournoyer, Sr. 302 to 281. Timmie Lynn Grablander received 160 votes and Earl Hicks 63.
