It’s common after NHL teams are eliminated in the playoffs to hear different players are injured but were playing through the injuries. Carter Sanderson, captain of the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Pierre native would be no exception during the USHL playoffs.
During the course of the playoff run and even prior to the playoffs beginning, Sanderson had to deal with a laundry list of injuries which still didn’t hold him out for a long time. He missed just two playoff games from the four series on his way to four goals and three assists in 14 games played. Sanderson says the injuries started to pile up before the end of the regular season…
If you watched Sanderson play, you may have not noticed it other than full cage on his helmet, but Sanderson says he could those injuries were effecting how he wanted to play…
As far as the summer goes, Sanderson says it’s time to nurse those injuries during the month of June…
Sanderson is a North Dakota commit as he will be a college freshman next season, but with hockey he can still head back to the USHL and play for Muskegon another year and it would not hurt his college commitment.
