The Pierre Governor golf team will be at the Cattail Golf Course in Watertown over the next two days as the Govs compete in the Class AA state tournament.
A total of 13 teams along with a few individuals from other Class AA schools will compete for the AA state team title and individual title. The Governors, who had Hadley Hart, Sittie Kasan and Drew Rechtenbaugh played throughout the year, but Taylor Crawford qualified for the state tournament as well getting the Governors eligible for the team score this week. Hart, who finished as an All-ESD member being 14th last Tuesday in Aberdeen and one of two seniors on this year’s team with Rechtenbaugh, says she’s excited for her senior year state tournament…
Pierre was scheduled to be at the Cattail Course a couple of weeks ago, however, the weather canceled the meet so the Governors will go into their practice round as the first time they’ll play the course this year. Hart says it’s the second year a meet got canceled where the state tournament is supposed to be played…
For Hart, who is expecting to be competing for an All-State spot and she says you can’t overthink things over both days…
Tiffany Benham, head coach of the Pierre Governors says the Govs will need to be knowing where to hit your tee shots…
Tee time is at 8:20 to start day one with the Governors teeing off starting at 9:00 at the Cattail Golf Course in Watertown.
