Back on May 20, Lincoln Kienholz, former Pierre Governor standout and current Louisville Cardinals quarterback would hold a kids camp to give back to the community which helped raise him.
Kienholz would host kids from third grade all the way through high school in a one day development camp working on drills and techniques all throughout the game of football. Kienholz had several current Pierre Governors and former Governor teammates helping him throughout the day including Jack Merkwan and Jason Maciejczak who graduated in 2023 with Kienholz. He says it’s important to give back to this community…
Being able to see the kids and the excitement they had, Kienholz built a lot of memories but a couple of moments really stuck out to him over the camp…
While Maciejczak spent one season here in Pierre, he built a quick bond with the 2023 team. Kienholz and Merkwan grew up playing every sport together and Kienholz says it meant a lot to work with those guys again…
Kienholz says it was a great experience and he hopes to continue this next year in May.
