The Pierre Governor golf team would wrap up the regular season on Tuesday as the Govs would finish in eighth as a team at the ESD Invite at the Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen.
Hadley Hart would lead Pierre finishing in 14th place at 14 over par, 86 as she would be just six shots back of tying for fifth place. Hart finished with a total of nine pars on the day. The other senior, Drew Rechtenbaugh, the other senior would be tied with Sittie Kasan at 39th at 32 over par, 104. Taylor Crawford would shoot a 109 with Charlotte Brakke at a 112 and Ava Gray at 132. Mitchell’s Maddie Childs would hold off Aberdeen Central’s Kyley Wirebaugh by two strokes to win the ESD individual title as she was three under par, 69 for the day. Wirebaugh was one under par, 71 while teammate Olivia Braun was two shots behind her, one over par, 73.
The Governors would finish at 115 over par as a team, 21 shots back of seventh place Brookings in the team standings. Aberdeen Central would win the ESD team title by 17 strokes over Mitchell as the Golden Eagles were just 13 over par as a team. Mitchell would be second with Huron third, Brandon Valley fourth and Watertown in fifth.
Pierre will now turn its attention to the Class AA state tournament in Watertown which begins on Monday, June 1 and runs through Tuesday, June 2
