The Spearfish Sasquatch would rally for 10 runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Oahe Zap 15-5 in those seven innings on Memorial Day as the Sasquatch start the season at 1-0.
The defending Independence League champions opened up with a five run second to lead 5-0 after two innings. However, Oahe came all the way back to tie it at 5-5 with a run in the third, fourth, two in the fifth and one in the seventh. Quinn Ludvigsen had to RBIs on three hits with Ty Farwell and Cy Taylor each having an RBI. But in the bottom of the seventh, Spearfish had two different three RBI triples along with two different two RBI doubles as Maddox Morrison had four RBIs in the inning and the Sasquatch scored the final seven runs with two outs to win by the 10 run rule in the series opener. Ely Vaughn would be tagged with the loss giving up seven runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout. AJ Pnciano gave up five runs, two earned, on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts over the first five innings of the game.
