The Pierre Governor softball team would have the daunting task of taking on the Harrisburg Tigers on Thursday on Senior Day and the Tigers would flex its power to the tune of eight extra base hits and two home runs to win 19-0 over Pierre.
Harrisburg opened with a five run first inning and had another five run third sandwiched between with a three run second before scoring six in the fifth to take the 19-0 lead. Anna Simunek and Alexis Fey each would hit a homer as Simunek was a triple shy of the cycle for the Tigers who improve to 18-1 on the season and have won 18 straight. Charlotte Hull had two of the three hits with Jordyn Kirkie having the third. Hull, McKenzi Flottmeyer and Ava Nelson would all pitch in the loss as the Govs finish the season at 5-13.
Pierre will have to wait for the final games to finish to determine their SoDak 16 opponent on Tuesday. If nothing changes they will face Brandon Valley on the road.
