PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Grand Theft case against a Pierre woman in Stanley County has been delayed now for a fifth time. Sixth Circuit Judge Bridget Mayer agreed to the extension in the case against 47 year-old Dusti Deal. In court Wednesday afternoon, Deal’s attorney Katie Thompson told Mayer the sides were still close and continuing to work out a plea deal, but suggested that the case may need to go to a trial. Mayer told Thompson the jury trial calendar is filling up quickly and wanted to get a date set sooner than later. No trial date was set. The next hearing in the case is set for Stanley County’s June court date which would be either a change of plea and sentencing hearing or motions hearing. Deal is accused of using a business credit card belonging to the Community and Youth Involved Center in Fort Pierre to make approximately 45-thousand dollars in unauthorized purchases on the card. Grand Theft by Embezzlement is a Class Four Felony that a carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a 20-thousand dollar fine.
