A total of 31 hits between the two teams, but the Pierre Governor softball team would fall 16-6 to the Tea Titans on Thursday on the road as the Titans scored in every inning.
Pierre would get 12 hits on the day, but the Titans answered it with 19 total hits and scored four runs in the first and three in the second to lead 7-0 early. Micah Buffalo and Ava Nelson each had an RBI in the top of third, but the Titans struck for four more runs to lead 11-2 after the three complete. Presley Spies had two RBIs in the game for the Governors including an RBI in the top of the fifth to keep the game moving as Tea led 14-3 heading into the fifth inning. Taryn Spruill had the other RBI for the Govs. Five players had multiple RBIs for Tea including Allie Wallum having the game high three runs driven in and four hits. McKenzi Flottmeyer would be tagged with the loss for Pierre as she went two and two thirds innings in the circle giving up 10 runs on nine hits with three strikeouts. Charlie Hull would go the final three innings giving up six runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts. Neither pitcher walked a batter.
Pierre drops to 5-12 while Tea improves to 5-10. The Governors will close out the regular season on Thursday with a home game against the Harrisburg Tigers. First pitch for senior day is at 4:00.
