While the Muskegon Lumberjacks have won games four and five the last two series, they must now win three in a row to claim the Clark Cup Championship as the series heads to Muskegon this weekend.
The Sioux Falls Stampede are just one win away from claiming the Clark Cup, dethroning the defending champions, but home ice belongs to the Lumberjacks this weekend and Muskegon will be the desperate team to win games three and four and get the series to Sioux Falls for a decisive game five. The Lumberjacks scored the first goal of the series, but have since been outscored 6-0 in the two losses. Captain and Pierre’s Carter Sanderson has been stymied without a point so far as only two guys have any points in the series with the lone goal. Linards Feldbergs has stopped 66 of 67 shots through first two games for the Herd as Carl Axelsson has stopped 58 of 62 shots for Muskegon with two goals being empty netters. Joey Macrina has two goals for Sioux Falls as the Herd have had five different goal scorers.
Puck drop on Friday is at 6:10 Central Time for game three. Muskegon must win to force game four on Saturday which will be at 5:10 Central Time. If Muskegon wins both, game five will be back in Sioux Falls on Tuesday at 7:05 for the winner-take-all-game.
