FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. The meeting will begin with city officials giving any updates to the Council before considering approval of the consent calendar. A lighter agenda will come before the Council tonight with only six action items to be considered. A presentation will be made to the city’s water department of the Secretary’s award for Drinking Water Excellence and the Council will consider approval of a temporary liquor license filed by the Silver Spur for an event on May 24th at the Pat Duffy Community and Youth Involved Center. Council members will also consider approval of a request to purchase a pickup truck for the Parks Department and a request to hire summer staff for the pool and Verendrye Museum. Other agenda items for the Fort Pierre City Council include setting a public hearing for June 15th for a land sale to Total Beauty L-L-C and authorize to seek bids for an electric transformer for the Fort Pierre Substation. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at six pm.
