Pierre’s Carter Sanderson and captain of the Muskegon Lumberjacks will be in the state of South Dakota this weekend playing in the Clark Cup Championship against the Sioux Falls Stampede.
The Lumberjacks would split the two games with the Stampede in January, the first time Sanderson returned to the state since playing for the Sioux Falls Power. In the two games, Sanderson had a goal in the 7-4 loss and an assist in the 5-3 win, his first two games as captain of the Lumberjacks. During the playoff run, Sanderson has four goals and three assists for seven points and a plus/minus of +7. The Jacks won games four and five to win the last two series against Dubuque and Madison and Sanderson says this is resilient group…
And Sanderson knows about playing through an injury. Sanderson missed two games with a concussion during the Dubuque series and also took the goalie paddle to the face in the Madison series which required some work on his teeth but he didn’t miss any time…
To play in Sioux Falls for the Clark Cup, Sanderson says its an amazing opportunity…
There will be plenty of fans from Pierre and inside South Dakota rooting for Sanderson and the Lumberjacks during games one and two this weekend and while the task at hand is winning the Clark Cup, Sanderson says he’s still going to soak in the moment and appreciation of the fans coming to watch…

Game one is scheduled for 7:05 Friday night with game two at 6:05 Saturday night at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Games three and four will be in Muskegon next week Friday and Saturday.
