The Pierre Governors would honor their 20 seniors Tuesday afternoon at Hollister Field in Pierre before having its final home meet of the season hosting 13 teams including the likes of Sully Buttes and Stanley County as the Govs had 20 event winners.
Pierre
For the Governor girls, Charlee Williams Smith would win the 200 meter dash while winning the 4×400 relay with Reed Curry, Ellen Hart and Devyn Van Roekel. Gwen Richter would win the 800 meter run, Emery Larson the 1600 meter run with another two relay teams winning the 4×100 and 4×200 as Elliot Bertsch, Maddie Merrill, Brooke Hanson and Ally Bauer would win the 4×100 and Bertsch, Bauer, Hart and Josephine Wurtz would win the 4×200. Sorrine Ekle would win the shot put and Amara Dell the high jump for the Govs. The Governor boys would get wins from Karson Walti in the 100, Will Danburg in the 200, Jagger Gardner in the 400, Caleb Morris in the 1600 and Lincoln Dilges in the 110 meter hurdles. Four relay teams would win for the Gov boys with Cooper Terwilliger, Porter Hunsley, Danburg and Walti winning the 4×100, George Rapp, Walti, Hunsley and Danburg in the 4×200, Hayden Northrup, Caleb Morris, Gardner and Dilges int he 4×400 and Camden Lamb, Henry Clayton, Matthew Ekert and Colt Brewer in the 4×800. Catcus Korkow would win the discus with Corde Austin winning the high jump and long jump.
Sully Buttes
Jett Yackley would set a new school record in the javelin throw for the third time this season winning the event for the Sully Buttes Chargers. Kayden Westergren would get third in the shot put while Hudson Barber, Carson Mercer, Jace Heath and Zack Weinheimer would get third in the 4×200 and Barber, Weinheimer, Karson Miles and Jackson Paxton would get fourth in the sprint medley relay race. Jaycee Jaeger would get seventh in the triple jump for the Charger girls lone top ten finish on the day.
Stanley County
The Stanley County Buffaloes would get a win in the boys sprint medley relay race as Paxton Deal, Landon Bame, Brendon Bothwell and Ryland Magee would get the win. Bothwell, Magee, Deal and Justin Trebbe would be second in the 4×400 and Deal, Jack Deal, Bame and Bothwell would be second in the 4×100. Trevor Caldwell would get second in the shot put, Deal second in the long jump and Jace Hand second in the javelin. Eddie Duffy was fourth in the 400 meters. Two fourth place finishes for the Stanley County Lady Buffs with Brianna Sargent, Ryan Bothwell, Austyn Norman and Addy Deal getting fourth in the 4×200 and 4×400 relay races. Bothwell, Emily Nemec, Saige Gruber and Tessa Peterson would be sixth in the 4×100.
Gettysburg
The Gettysburg Battlers had two wins on Tuesday with Jaycee Stevens winning the 3200 meters and Skyler Oster, Beth Seurer, Finlee Heien and Emma Schlachter would win the sprint medley relay race. The foursome was second in the 4×100 relay race while Heien, Schlachter and Paige and Jaydn Ahlemeier would be second in the 4×400. The Battler boys would get a third place finish from Lukas Fersch, Raul Gautier, Jackson Simon and Michael Jager in the sprint medley relay while Jager, Simon, Teegan Arpan and Izaya Velasquez would be fourth in the 4×400.
Jones County
The Jones County Coyotes would get three wins with BreAna Aske winning the 400 meters, Maggie Dowling in the javelin and the team of Aubrey Tucker, Molly Nix, Julia Kinsley and Addison Rankin winning the 4×800 relay. Aske was also second in the 100 and 200 meter runs along with a second place finish in the long jump. Rankin was second in the high jump. Titan Erikson had the best Coyote boy finish being third in the high jump while also being sixth in the 100 meter hurdles.
Hoven
Dannika Kaup would win the 100 meter hurdles and also would be second in the 400 meters and eighth in the 200 meters for the Hoven Greyhounds. Xavier Hobert was sixth in the javelin throw while Jayden Karst was eighth in the 800 meters and the team of Karst, Easton Hobert, Casey Hageman and Alex Lutter would be eighth in the 4×200.
