The Pierre Governor softball team would start its three game week being shutout 15-0 in four innings by the Brandon Valley Lynx on the road on Tuesday.
The Governors were held to just two hits with Ava Nelson hitting a double and Micah Buffalo with a single as the Govs just couldn’t get the offense going. Brandon Valley would score four in the first, three in the second, four in the third and another four in the fourth to get the 15-run rule win as the Lynx move to 11-4 on the season and the Govs will fall to 4-10. McKenzi Flottmeyer would go the first two and two thirds of the game allowing eight runs on nine hits with a walk before Charlie Hull went the next two thirds of an inning giving up just two hits with six unearned runs and a walk. Nelson would get just one out before the 15th run would score. Kennedy Fitts had four RBIs in the win for BV as Alexa Harms went 3-4 and Ava Groeneveld had a double and triple.
Pierre will continue the busy week with a pair of make up games as the Govs will host Mitchell on Thursday before traveling to Sturgis on Friday. First pitch is at 4:00 on Thursday against Mitchell.
