The Pierre Governor softball team would face all four Sioux Falls public schools and would fall in all four games, 11-3 to Lincoln and 13-0 to Jefferson on Friday, 9-2 to Roosevelt and 9-0 to Washington on Saturday.
Both Jefferson and Washington had a combined one loss heading into the weekend as they both would shutout the Govs as the pitching would hold Pierre to a combined six hits in the two games.
On Friday against Lincoln, Pierre would get RBIs from McKenzi Flottmeyer and Ava Nelson along with a double from Nelson. Emma Theilen would get a triple for the Govs, but five defensive errors would score five unearned runs in the 11-3 loss. In the game against Roosevelt on Saturday, a three run first and six run third put the Govs down 9-0 before Pierre would get runs in the fourth and sixth. Presley Spies would get a triple, but three unearned runs would come in to score for Washington while both runs were unearned against the Warriors.
Pierre falls to 4-9 on the season and have dropped seven straight. The Govs will travel to Brandon Valley on Tuesday to take on the Lynx. First pitch is at 6:00 on Tuesday.
