With the series tied 1-1, the series will shift to Muskegon as the Lumberjacks now host games three and four against the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Friday and Saturday.
The two teams traded wins on Friday and Saturday last weekend in Dubuque as the Fighting Saints won game one 2-1, but Muskegon won game two 6-2 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the USHL playoffs. Now in Muskegon, the Lumberjacks are looking to win both games with home ice advantage and to win the best-of-five series and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight year. However, their captain and Pierre native, Carter Sanderson is dealing with a concussion and will have to miss this weekend’s games. The Lumberjacks have dealt with a lot of injuries and player movement throughout the season and now have to deal with their captain being out for games three and four at home. Sanderson played the full game one last Friday, but left game two after the first period after a high hit against the Pittsburgh Penguins draft pick. If the series goes to five games, the fifth and decisive game will be back in Dubuque on Tuesday, April 28 and Sanderson says he would be back to play in the final game of the series.
Both games are scheduled for a 6:10 Central Time puck drop on Friday and Saturday in Muskegon, Michigan.
