PIERRE, (KCCR) — By the numbers, it’s a light agenda tonight for the Pierre City Commission. There are two items in special business as proclamations will be made for Arbor Day and National Library Day. Then comes the consent calendar full of seasonal new hires for approval by the Commission. There is one hire each for the street department and business office. There are 21 seasonal outdoor pool cashiers, 15 pool lifeguards and 20 seasonal recreation department new hires all for approval on the consent calendar. The calendar also includes a raffle request filed by River of Life, and claims and meeting minute approval. The only regular business item for the Pierre City Commission tonight is a request to bid for landfill bale bags. The bid is an annual bid considered by the Commission each year. Commissioners will give any dialogue before the meeting ends. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the community.
