PIERRE, (KCCR) — Some changes in state law has put county auditors and finance directors in the tough spot of not having ballots ready for the start of absentee voting. Hughes County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva says Hughes County should get it’s ballots in the next week or two…
Oliva intends to follow state law and not permit sample ballots to be used temporarily to be recreated by a resolution board….
State law requires county election officials to distribute absentee ballots within 48 hours of their arrival to the office, which Oliva intends to follow….
