The Gettysburg Battlers would host 22 total teams on Friday as all teams opened the outdoor season with a few beginning it’s complete season on the day.
Gettysburg would host Sully Buttes, Stanley County, Highmore-Harrold and Hoven from the local area as the Battlers would get a couple of wins along with Hoven and Stanley County.
Sully Buttes
The Sully Buttes Chargers would open its season with a total of nine top ten finishes as Hudson Barber had the highest finish overall for the Chargers placing second in the triple jump with Jace Heath placing eighth. Jett Yackley was fifth in the javelin while Easton Moore was eighth in the discus throw and Cooper Falkenhagen being eighth in the shot put. On the track side, Karsen Miles was eighth in the 400 meter run and Bretton Barber was tenth. Jaycee Jaeger had two top ten finishes at ninth in the triple jump and tenth in the long jump.
Stanley County
Paxton Deal started the outdoor season with a win in the long jump as he would be the lone Buffalo to get a win for Stanley County as the Buffs had 16 top ten finishes. Continuing on the boys side, Justin Trebbe was fourth in the 400 meters while Ryland Magee was seventh and then fourth in the 800 meters. Deal teamed with Landon Bame, Brendon Bothwell and Carson Bourne to get fifth in the 4×100 relay and then ninth in the 4×400. Trevor Caldwell was sixth in the shot put and Jace Hand sixth in the javelin throw. Bourne was also ninth in the long jump. For the Lady Buffs, Addy Deal, Austyn Norman, Brylee Larson and Brianna Sargent would have the highest finish at third in the 4×200 relay. The foursome also was fourth in the 4×400 and then Norman, Larson, Gracie Rutherford and Emily Nemec was fourth in the sprint medley relay race. Sargent also placed ninth in the 100 meters with Rutherford in tenth in the 1600 meters. On the field side, Carlee Brady was sixth in the javelin and Taylor Barta was ninth in the discus.
Gettysburg
Host, Gettysburg would pick up two wins as Emma Schlachter was first in the 800 meters and also won the 4×400 with Finlee Heien, Paige and Jadyn Ahlemeier. The foursome was also second in the 4×800. In the 400 meters, Paige Ahlemeier was sixth while Beth Seurer was eighth. Jayden Ahlemeier was also sixth in the 800 meters while Layla Cronin got sixth in the 1600 meters, Heien fifth in the 300 meter hurdles and Megan Seurer was tenth in the 200 meters. Skyler Oster, Beth Seurer, Anastasia Penrod and Taylor Long were sixth in the 4×100 relay. For the Battler boys, Jackson Simon was third in the 300 meter hurdles and Easton Rausch was third in the pole vault for the top finishes for the boys. Declan Hanten was fourth in the pole vault. Hanten was also fifth in the 3200 meter run. Simon, Michael Jager, Lukas Fersch and Ayden Forgey was sixth in the 4×200 relay while Simon was ninth in the javelin, Lakyn Heien ninth in the triple jump and the team of Rausch, Logan Kusser, Bradly Vasquez and Teegan Arpan were tenth in the sprint medley relay race.
Hoven
Dannika Kaup had a win in the 100 meter hurdles as the lone Hoven Greyhounds win. Kaup was also third in the long jump, fourth in the 300 meter hurdles and the 200 meter run. Jordan Kaiser, Kea Cronin, Ava Griese and Brynn Huber was sixth in the sprint medley relay race while Kaiser, Addison and Ava Greise and Cronin was eighth in the 4×100 relay. Kaiser was ninth in the long jump. For the Hoven boys, Alex Lutter, Gage Kaiser, Easton Hobert and Atley Schmidt was fourth in the 4×800 for the best finish. Kaiser was sixth in the triple jump and Casey Hageman, Easton Hobert, Jayden Karst and Lutter was seventh in the sprint medley relay.
Highmore-Harrold
For the Highmore-Harrold Pirates, Brooks McPeak in the 800 with Autumn Fallis in the 1600 meters and Destin McCauley in the discus each placed second for the Pirates. Carly Stephenson was fourth and Addison McDonnell was seventh in the discus. McDonnell was also sixth in the shot put. Fallis was also fourth in the 800 meters while McPeak was fourth in the boys 4×400 with Carter and Jonah Webb and Kia McCauley and then he was sixth in the 1600 meters. Whitley Baloun was sixth in the 300 meter hurdles and was also seventh in the 100 meter hurdles.
