South Dakota has announced its basketball Region Coaches of the Year and three Sully Buttes Coaches are recognized as being assistant coaches of the year and a lower level coach of the year.
Starting on the girls side, Conner Dekker received the Region 3 Assistant Coach of the Year tying with Faulkton’s Ryan Melius. For the Region 3 Boys Assistant Coach of the Year was Jesse Wittler. The Charger boys had a return trip to the state tournament making it back since 2020. Then Scott Senftner was awarded the lower level boys Coach of the Year which is for Regions 1-4. Only two coaches get awarded a lower level Coach of the Year.
The three coaches is the most by any school for the 2025-26 basketball season. Other local coaches to get a coach of the year is Mike Ring, the head coach of the Highm0re-Harrold girls for Region 3.
